Home, family, and food have always been passionately important to me. My own mom was a great “from-scratch” Mid-Western cook, who taught me at her side in the kitchen. I was hooked when I made my first pie (pecan) for Home-Ec. at twelve and saw the pleasure on my father’s face.
As a new bride in the 70s, I clipped recipes weekly, took classes in different types of cuisine, and experimented on my poor husband (thanks, Scott!). His mother and grandmother introduced me to the food of the Deep South. I have tried to pass on good nutritional habits over the past 30 years, both in the classroom and to my own four children.
Catering events have also been a part-time occupation, first working for other companies, and then on my own. The idea for Mom’s Table began when my own children would bring their friends home, and when dinner was served, they seemed surprised that it came out of the oven and that we all sat down and ate together!
I became aware that many women (and men!) my age and younger just weren’t taught to cook the way I was and that the demands on their time prevented them from shopping, cooking, and serving it in the traditional way. (As told by Owner and Mom, Joanne Rooks) The concept is structured to provide a profitable, low-investment business opportunity for franchise candidates that meet the Mom’s Table owner profile. It is a way for franchisees to become a fixture in their community while offering a product people love and crave.
WHY MOM’S TABLE
1. OUR RECORD OF SUCCESS
Mom’s Table has developed and implemented a model that is based upon a flexible growth strategy that has been in operation since 2008 (although Joanne Rooks has been cooking for 40+ years). Founded by Joanne and Scott Rooks, Mom’s Table offers old-fashioned cooking for people that love healthy, home-cooked meals, but lack the skills or free-time to make it themselves. Mom’s Table has been a profitable success and is now launching a franchise program.
2. TOTAL TRAINING & SUPPORT
The Mom’s Table management team will offer unrivaled training and support to each franchisee as they join the franchise family. The company’s operating model is simple and has been structured with well-defined processes and reordering systems in place, which allow for ease of replication. Initial training will be held at the franchisor’s headquarters in Roswell, Georgia.
3. PROFITABLE & REWARDING BUSINESS
Mom’s Table sits in a great position in the franchise market with a strong operating model in place and a strong differentiation from the rest of the home-cooked meal businesses in the franchise marketplace. Mom’s Table is the high-performing exception within a very lucrative and growing industry.
